The Australian melon industry is gearing up for its biggest event in years, with tickets officially on sale for the 2026 Australian Melon Conference and the highly anticipated return of the National Melon Field Day. The three-day event will be held from 7–9 October 2026 across Townsville and Ayr in North Queensland.
Bringing together growers, researchers, seed companies, agribusinesses, retailers and industry stakeholders from across Australia, the conference promises three days of innovation, networking, industry insights and hands-on learning designed to help shape the future of the Australian melon industry.
Part of the three-day event will include a Melon Field Day, taking place at the Queensland Department of Primary Industries' Ayr Research Station. Delegates will have the opportunity to experience first-hand demonstrations, variety trials, chemistry trials, automation technologies and the latest research and development initiatives driving productivity and profitability in melon production.
Melons Australia Chief Executive Officer Johnathon Davey said the return of the conference and field day marks an exciting milestone for the industry.
Hosted across The Ville Resort-Casino and the Townsville Entertainment & Convention Centre, the conference program has been designed to deliver something for every part of the supply chain, especially melon growers. Delegates will hear from leading experts, participate in interactive strategic workshops, explore emerging trends in marketing, exports and sustainability, and connect with industry peers from around the country and abroad.
The event will also feature a two-day trade show showcasing the latest products, services and technologies available to melon growers, alongside networking opportunities including a Welcome Event and Gala Dinner.
With North Queensland's strong agricultural heritage and Townsville's growing reputation as a destination for major industry events, organisers expect strong attendance from across Australia. The event is expected to attract growers and industry representatives from all major melon-producing regions, making it one of the most significant melon industry gatherings in recent years.
Early bird tickets are now available until the 30thof June.
