Australian Melon Field Day

Bus departing Queensland DPI’s Ayr Research Station at 2pm to Home Hill High State School

Explore a showcase of specialty melon crop plots grown under protected cropping through a collaboration between the Home Hill State High School, Rijk Zwaan, and HM Clause and the Department of Primary Industries. Visitors will tour melon trial plots within the retractable roof structure and educational facility, with insights provided by researchers, teachers, and students involved in the project.

Activities are also supported by project AS20007 Driving AgTech Adoption Across Australia, a DPI and industry co-investment in the Hort Frontiers program of Hort Innovation Australia.
