APVMA has issued a notice of suspension for
a set list of crops to registrants of all products containing dimethoate.
This is an interim regulatory action while
further assessments on the chemical are completed. The suspension takes effect
as of Thursday 6th October, 2011 and is for 12 months, ending on 5
October 2012.
However, melons including watermelons
have been removed from the suspension list and interim continued use of
dimethoate in compliance with the label is allowed.
